The Momentum for Togetherness

Momentum for together-ness has never been higher than it is in 2020 because pre-covid, “togetherness” has always meant different things to different people. Now, “togetherness” has taken on a united meaning.

The MFactor for “togetherness” increased from 63 this time last year to 83 this month. In March when the global pandemic broke, “together” took on a singular meaning: a global fight against the pandemic. Now that we see a light at the end of the tunnel, momentum for “together” means getting together IRL (in real life).

As 2020 comes to a close, we realize that all the ways we united this past year to feel “quaranseen” happened while we were physically separated, much of it via screen time. Our momentum making pastimes (tiktok-ing, bread baking, chess playing, DIY home-repairing) were all done in isolation.

It will all be better in 2021 when we can come together, zoom out and share our evolution in person.

We’re looking forward to not just baking bread, but breaking bread with one another. We can’t wait to show off our made-over, glowed-up selves somewhere outside of a selfie. And our fixed-up and DIY-renovated homes and our newly built outdoor spaces will be all the better once we can welcome friends and family back over.

As we bid good riddance to 2020 and say, “See you next year!” know that we mean it sincerely. We can’t wait until we get together in-person soon.
